The Earthitect 2 project, which we created in the area of Mesabelies in Heraklion, Crete, is based on the idea of creating a complex of 12 luxury residences (8 different types), while maintaining the advantages of a detached house and the privacy of the residences. The configuration of the residences was achieved through open patio spaces, which act as natural separators.
These intermediate patio spaces, planted roofs, as well as the open courtyards designed, were the cornerstone for the integration of the complex into the Cretan landscape. These features add a new dynamic to the facades of the buildings, while highlighting the concept of quiet luxury.
The two main entrances of the complex stand out thanks to their curves, which introduce the visitor to a "paradise" of soft minimalism, aesthetics and simplicity. Homely wooden vertical surfaces, rough materials, running water and Mediterranean vegetation make up the outdoor spaces, ideal for relaxation and social moments.
Each residence has a swimming pool, spacious gardens, living room, BBQ or dining area. The main façade of the complex was shaped in a "V" shape, following the existing slope of the ground, and the project extends over three floors. In this way, the landscape dictated the architectural form, allowing the residences to enjoy unobstructed views of the Cretan Sea.
The 100-120 sq.m. residences include spacious and functional living and kitchen areas, two WCs, a master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, an underground closed parking space and a storage room.
The high standard interior design combines the contemporary with the timeless, creating a flexible luxury environment that promotes creativity and well-being, offering a unique lifestyle.
